Long time no see... Random Update.

So, Christmas 2010 has come and gone... Well, almost anyway; as I have yet to hear anything from my side of the family regarding a Christmas get-together... We spent Christmas Eve with Smurfette's family, first at Smurfdog (her older brother's) to give our gifts to our nieces & nephew; then at her uncle's for the big family get together...

It didn't go as horribly as I'd expected it to, there was a friend-of-a-cousin-of-Smurfette's that came along that I B.S.'d with regarding nerdy topics (he apparently does something regarding registration at Anime Detour)... So I got to pass the time a little easier than I normally do (staring at my watch, or my phone, or a computer screen). That's not to say that I don't *like* her family, I do! I'm just not a fan of the holidays... (I might discuss that later, don't really feel like it right now)...

Anyways, we got the routine check from Papa Smurf ($500!), which was used to purchase Smurfette her 5 year Anniversary band and me a new pair of lenses for my glasses. I guess it could have gone towards other things, but the lenses of my glasses were pretty bad (cracked!), and we'd actually had to 'return' a ring we had on layaway after we couldn't afford to keep making payments on it... The good thing about her ring? We picked it up at Kohl's for a QUARTER of what it would have cost us at the jewelery stores! Pretty cool, if I say so myself...

What else is new? I've been working on miscellaneous projects for Dairycon 2011, including character bios, mock-ups, spreading of 'news leaks', and organizing the 3rd Dairyland Transfans Meet-Up in Eau Claire next month. It's been rather fun, but I'm a bit concerned about the lack of discussion and/or commitment from the group... I'm sure it'll go off without a hitch, but that's just me being overly concerned about nothing...

Anyways, enough typing out of me for now... I think a short update is better than none at all, so I will bid you adieu until I return once again!

The Never-Ending Rain (or, "When It Rains, It Pours"...)

So, the last week has been pretty much a big gray, cloudy blur... It's been raining nearly the entire time, and I for one am getting tired of it...
Not even one good thunderstorm came out of it!

Outside of the weather, I've had to bring Smurfette to a few different doctor's appointments (all scheduled ahead of time and approved, mind you) in the last few weeks... Vision, hearing, infusion, rheumetologist... So much fun. But at least it appears that she's doing pretty good (all things considered).

And finally, my bank has annoyed me today... NSF fees charged to my account, but I (and the people at the bank) can't figure out why I was charged them... Should get answers tomorrow!

Anyways, that's it for now...

Random Pictures From Dairycon 2010!

Below are a couple of pictures taken at this year's Dairycon... Two of my art piece "Nemesis Heffer", which unfortunately didn't place in the Top 3 of the art contest this year... One of the 10th Anniversary cake, and the other of the "Dairycon Staffers" before they cut into said cake!

Back home from Dairycon!

I have to say that Dairycon was a blast this year, and I am thrilled that Smurfette and I were able to attend!

While I was playing against Sean & Patrick in a gmae of TF Heroscape, Smurfette got a phone call from Papa Smurf informing us tha her younger brother's wife had had her baby! -When we had seen them a few days earlier on Easter she was looking ready to pop any day now, and we're happy to hear that they had a healthy baby girl! We are looking forward to popping by today (or next weekend) to see them!

As for Dairycon itself, we had fun (although we both got a little fersnickered Friday night thanks to Sean & crew)... I was a bit tipsy, but Smurfette got *trashed*! She was a little achy & sore the next morning (with a sour stomach), but quickly recovered after a bit of greasy BK food for lunch...

I was lucky enough to try out for the "Dairycon Idol" script reading, and got the part of Heffer in the Presentation the next day... I got to utter my one line "Moo?!" wth resounding success, and didn't let the fame go to my head!

We spent a little more than I'd have ultimately liked, but got quite a few figures that we'd been thinking aout picking up (Reissue Skywarp to finifh my 3 Seekers, Encore Jazz, an Ani Grimlock to replace the one the Beagle had chewed upon), Disney Label Mickey & Donald, a Spychanger RID Scourge to compliment my G1 Prime Spychanger, and I picked up the Lawson DVD Movie Prime repaint of the mold to complete that mold's "set"....

I also got 2 Dairycon Minervas, a Testshot, a Ticker, and a few misc Accessories (Repair Bear for the win!) in my Goodie Bag.... -Thanks to Fred for those!

Anyways, got a lot to do today, so I'll sign off for now... I'll try not to neglect this blog here so often, and keep you all updated in the future!

Yup, I'm Sick...

So, I could have called it last night... I went to bed after a nice, hot shower; and then woke up every hour or two hacking up a lung!

Needless to say, I called into work; which I *really* didn't want to do... I slept in a bit to try to catch up on what sleep I lost from the night before, and brought Smurfette over to Woodbury for a doctor's appointment... She talked to the doctor, got a little exam, and he said that it appeared to be a viral infection...

So yeah, looks like we've got ourselves a viral bronchitis of some sort... Which there isn't much of anything they can do for us... We've picked up some Robitussin for Smurfette, and a generic of Mucinex for myself... It seems to be helping a little, as I'm not coughing as much as I was earlier; and what coughing I *am* doing seems to be a bit more productive!

I wouldn't say that I'm *better*, but I think by tomorrow I should not be feeling as crappy as I did this morning... Well enough to head into work? Gods I hope so....

Wish me luck...

Feeling Under The Weather.

So, we had a couple friends over to hang out and play some Magic... After one of them had shown up and had been there for a while, he tells us that he was "just getting over" a bug... That he had even felt it that morning!!!

Now, this wouldn't have been a big deal, if Smurfette didn't have a compromised immune system, or if the *BOTH* of us weren't feeling like utter SHIT yesterda & today... It feels like there's some sort of slime in the back of my throat! This afternoon I started coughing a little more, and my nose is running a little bit, and my throat's starting to get a little sore from said cough...

*Cough* I just hope I get over this crud quick, since Smurfette's bound to get hammered harder than I will...

A Wicked Beagle.... Or A Failed Test To Post An Image.

That should hopefully be apick of our beagle... Taken from my phone, transferred to Photobucket's Mobile website, and posted here via my phone's browser (as I don't want to muck about with Blooger's Mobile Blogger.... sounds a little complicated?)...

In Which Meth Posts From His New Phone...

So, I'm still getting used to my new phone from T-Mobile, a Dash 3G made by HTC. I picked it up on Friday before Valentine's Day, and wa a bit leery aout spending as much as I did...
It's not that the phone itself cost all that much, but I wasn't initially willing to add the Web service to my plan... They were pretty cool about everything though, especially after I had very little interest in any of the non-web REQUIRED phones. The Dash3G was their cheapest smartphone, running Windows Mobile 6.5, an operating system I have a little experience with from my old Motorolla MPX200 I used to own a few years ago. I was lucky in the sense that the salesman offered to give me an older data plan, which included 400 text messags, but costs $5 less than just their regular data plan! (For reference, the unlimited data & texting plan is $10 more a month than I'm paying.)

I've discovered that Blogger has a mobile blogging feature of some kind, so I'm intrigued tto check that out, maybe do something akin to Weasel's Photoblog Friday? I dunno, but I'll figure something out...

Anyways, I'm going to toy around with my new toy! See you all soon!

In which Meth bitches about family...

OK, first off, I might come off as a horrible person here... So let me explain a little background...

My brother is living with Brute Bronco right now. He's been living there since last summer, after having been kicked out of the place he was living for:
1) Not doing anything around the place
2) Repeatedl paying his portion of the rent late
3) Making a mess (and not cleaning up after himself as referenced in #1)

Now, He'd lived with Brute Bronco before, after his girlfriend he was living with broke up with him and he didn't have the means to pay the rent. Bronco had the same complaints after a while, and the lease wasn't renewed (owner sold the house to someone else). Now, my Brother was only supposed to live there for a few months until summer was over (as he's a school bus driver), and he had the money to pay for his own place... I cautioned them both about the *last time* they lived together, and tried keeping my brother notified about any complaints Bronco had about him... But, he was up to his same old crap again after a while, and Bronco finally got fed up with him. As of January 1st, 2010 my brother was supposed to be *out*. He's still there, but I won't get into that right now.

So, knowing that, Bronco has once again asked *us* if we wanted to move in again. You see, we had plans to do this a while back, but it fell through due to some unforseen circumstances. He ended up moving into the apartment he's currently renting (and to which we'll be moving)... So, we decided that now was the right time!

Now then, my mother and Smurfette's father ("Papa Smurf") are both on board (after a little worry about Smurfette's Social Security & Health Insurance coverage)... MY father showed those same concerns, but seemed to be on board after I aleviated them a while back.. But he called up a couple days ago, I mentioned that I was packing up my Transformers & Smurfette's Care Bears. He'd asked if they were going into storage, and I replied, "No, for the move." "Oh, well... You know how I feel about that." and went on to say how we're in a great spot, with Papa Smurf close (we're moving TWELVE miles away!), being right across the street from the clinic (which she hasn't gone to in 5 years, and we'll be closer to her current one, and even CLOSER to another if we decide to switch), blah blah blah...

I know he's concerned, but WTF?!?! I wanted to tell him off, but fuck it... I chatted with my mom today, and she agrees with us... Yes, it sucks for my brother, but he's had more than enough chances w/ Brute Bronco, and it's time for him to learn the hard way... He's been doing this too long (mooching off others while shitting on them), and it's time for him to get some sense smacked into him... (My mom agrees with me, but apparently my father is more worried for him. Don't get me wrong, so am I, but I'm sure he'll make it through... Hell, I've told him REPEATEDLY that if he needs help with anyhthing, just give me a holler!

But, that's about it right now... I didn't sleep well last night, gotta get up and cook dinner soon, and have to try to get some sleep tonight... -Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to get some more packing and the laundry done...
